50+ Year Old Stock RED Mexican Crazy Lace Agate End Piece WOW!
Please wait for the downloads you will not be disappointed.
This item's description: I found a 2 pound rough at the bottom of a 6 ton pile of rock that I was moving for Gene Stewart of Stewart's Gem Shop here in Boise. He said it was his father's and it had to be at least 50 years old because the pile has not moved since then. The real colorful solid Mexican lace is very hard to come by these days, especially in red. This is a end piece off that 2 ponder.  I kept the core which is now part of my collection displays. Click here to see. Really cool healed fractures of Hematite which polished out nice and shiny. Main colors are: Red, cream corn yellow, orange, white and shiny silvery black hematite. Open natural fracture at the top (see Dry). Other natural fractures healed solid with hematite.
(5 1/4 x 2 1/2 x 1/2 to 1/8) All pictures taken in SUNLIGHT.

Some more auction details:
I typically don't slab out high end specimens, mainly because people like customized cab thickness or display pieces. So, I’m leaving the fun of cutting up to you. Consequently, I have only cut thin slices to prove the color and quality.
NOTE: I only cut slabs and sell rough. I just don't have the time for anything else, therefore, all my offerings are the best CHOICE fresh cut pieces.
Lighting: Solux 4700K Full daylight spectrum flood. So, the colors are close to true as if you took the specimen out into the sunlight. Specimens might appear darker in yellow indoor lighting. All specimen photo's are taken wet unless otherwise noted in the auction.
Condition: Like most ROUGH material that has been changed by the forces of nature there are bound to be flaws. If fractures are in the main cabing areas (center or significant design area) I'll call it out. But rest assured if I say GEM that means no stress fractures on the sliced face or major working area and no pitting. Like most serious Morrisonite display collectors like myself, natural open or healed fractures (not stress fractures) most often times adds to the beauty, sometimes you want them, sometimes not (see my display and slab masterpieces), but in competition you want the least as possible. In working cabs it's important not to have large deep stress fractures...I understand...you don't want it falling apart in your hand. Any good caber as you know can sand out or fill in tiny flaws without most anyone knowing. But with Morrisonite the beauty overwhelms any natural flaws. If you are a purest like myself and have questions...just ask...I'm easy. Morrisonite will always be my passion.
Measurement: Taken at longest or widest point. Note: End piece thicknesses do vary from 2 mm up to 2 inches sometimes, so measurement is only at the thickest point.
